South Africa, Kenya, Liberia & Beyond

Girls Matter Period (GMP) provides education and reusable hygiene kits to thousands of girls and women in Africa each year. GMP Kits help girls stay in school, live with dignity and confidence, and achieve their dreams!

In 2025/2026, over 3,500 GMP Kits have been made in Arizona, Minnesota, Iowa, Idaho, Kenya, and South Africa to be distributed this year.

2026 Distributions –

  • 2,000 girls will be blessed by Paula Blessman’s GMP outreach team, Village Threads (Idaho Falls, ID), and Blessman International in South Africa in August 2026.

  • 800 students in Kenya will receive GMP Kits in July/August 2026 through the efforts of Life Together Alliance LLC. 200 of these kits were made by volunteers in Arizona and 600 by the young women at the newly created Dignity Sewing Center in Kisii, Kenya.

  • 600 girls and women will be served in Liberia through International Children’s Fund in 2026.

  • 150 GMP Kits were distributed in January 2026 through the Light of the World Academy in Liberia.

That’s over 3,500 more lives impacted by Girls Matter Period!

If you are making Girls Matter Period Kits for your friends & family or to give to girls in need, we would love to hear from you! Tell us your story!

If you (or your organization) would like to positively impact girls, we can help! Providing menstrual health education and reusable/washable GMP Kits can make a long-lasting difference for many. You are welcome to use our patterns and information to benefit the communities you serve.

We are seeking distribution partners—individuals or organizations with established connections in communities where girls and women lack access to reliable menstrual hygiene products. Ideally, partners should be able to transport GMP Kits from the United States to their destination communities, with shipments originating in Arizona, Minnesota, or Iowa.
